Fundamentals Of Rebuilding Hopper Scales

Due to CAPEX constraints, the requirement was to rebuild and existing hopper scale and to replace the old instrumentation with new instrumentation. The correct fundamental decision that the customer took was to award the project to Sasco, in the knowledge that a rougher and professional job would be done.

The solution Sasco provided was to identify areas of the hopper scale frame that were suffering from metal fatigue and to rebuild these. Sand blast the whole scale frame, replace cylinder seals and bearings replace the load cells and indicator with Sasco products. The result was a new scale and a fraction of the cost of buying a new unit.
