Sasco News
Our August 2022 newsletter covers the importance of certifying your weighbridge operators to prevent avoidable issues and incidents that impact business.
- Date: August 2022
- Sasco Group: Sasco Metrology Services
- News Type: Newsletter Updates
- Health and Safety: Truck drivers are not being told to approach the weighbridge correctly, therefore, running the risk of damaging the weighbridge and causing health and safety issues.
- Excess Damage: Checks and daily maintenance on the weighbridge are not being done correctly, resulting in breakdowns and downtime.
- Inaccurate Weighing: Inaccurate weighing is due to the Weighbridge Operator not knowing, for example, to check that the truck is correctly positioned on the weighbridge
- Long Weighing Times: Weighing takes too long as the Weighbridge Operator lacks the knowledge to ensure the correct procedures are followed, including not allowing drivers to get out of the truck, which causes weight changes and delays.
- Unnecessary Service Call Outs: Requests for the service provider to come to the site for basic issues that the Weighbridge Operator could resolve if he had basic fault-finding knowledge.
