Lightning strikes are critical operating risk to Weighbridges.
Correctly installed weighbridges will normally be installed with forms of general surge protection lightning protection.This provides a baseline level of protection.
Africa remains the continent with the most lightning hotspots and is home to six of the world’s top 10 sites for lightning strikes. It is therefore strongly advisable in Africa to install load cells each with their own inbuilt lightning protection.
