The three major growth corridors in Mozambique are the Maputo Corridor to the South African border; the Nacala Corridor linking the central and northern provinces of Mozambique and Tanzania, Zambia, and Malawi to the Nacala deep water port; and the Beira Corridor linking Mozambique’s central provinces and neighbouring Zim with Beira port.

Traffic volumes on the Maputo Corridor are steadily increasing after having declined by approximately 70% during the COVID lockdown. Trac took the opportunity to appoint Sasco Moçambique SA to repair and upgrade in a phased manner weighbridge on the N4.

Repairs have been completed at Pessene weighing site and Matola weighbridge will follow shortly. Further upgrades are expected to the weighing instrumentation to improve accuracy and reliability.
