COVID disrupted and delayed projects in 2021. Notwithstanding this reality, trends in the type of weighing solutions sought in 2020 continued into 2021 with the agricultural, mining, logistics and other broader industrial sectors continuing to demand:
• Instrumentation that can deliver greater reliability.
• Axle weights as well as total weights on weighbridges.
• Greater automation of weighing processes for unmanned systems;
• Complete integration of data coming from weighbridge systems with ERP systems.
While demand for a standard industrial weighing solution continued at a pace, with Sasco completing numerous weighing system upgrades, Sasco experienced the most significant growth in the area of large multi-million Rand automation and data integration projects.
This bulletin focuses on understanding the benefits of analogue load cell digitisation especially as it relates to weighbridges. Initial indicators point to continuing demand in 2022 for these types of solutions.
Sasco also remains committed to striving to “change the status quo” through being innovative in developing new solutions. Hopefully, in the coming months, we can announce:
• Multiple sales of our new proprietary SW2000 truck weigh-in-motion systems.
• The launch of new software facilitating the remote monitoring of weighbridges’ technical status, automated flagging of component problems and triggering specific repair requests.
• A series of online training courses for weighbridge operators aimed at improving their knowledge and performance.
